Disaster Strikes Myanmar

DISASTER STRIKES MYANMAR AGAIN

It has been less than a year and a half since cyclone Nargis ripped through the southern part of Myanmar wreaked havoc and destruction.  The death toll was high and much of the country’s largest crop, rice, was destroyed.  This year the crisis is far from the lowland regions and into the mountains of Southern Chin state where our ministry, Pastor Benjamin” was born and raised as an orphan.

“Pastor Benjamin” routinely visits the area to share the Gospel among the people.  It is an arduous journey generally requiring four days on foot, but the hike is worth the effort when it comes to saving souls.  He has discipled several pastors in the area and next month ten of those will make the long journey to Yangon to join the pastor in some additional training to assist them in their ministries.  This will be vital during the current crisis which is starvation caused about every 48-50 years by the bamboo plants blooming.  Please click here to read the details of what the problem is as reported by “Pastor Benjamin”

We ask that you would keep these people in prayer.  Their lives are difficult without disasters, and the current crisis leaves them few options short of leaving the country without the Lord’s divine intervention.
