Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

With two orphanages in West Pokot, the pastors of East Pokot realized a need for an orphanage also. Plans for a four-building complex were draw up in 2004.  It has been a slow process, but the Lord has been faithful to supply the funds needed for this project which is scheduled to open in 2008 with approximatley 100 children and ultimately a capacity for 300 when all phases are complete.

Chemolingot is located in the Great Rift Valley of northwest Kenya and is approximately 260 miles from the capital, Nairobi.  Despite its remoteness, Chemolingot is relatively accessible and is an economic, governmental and social hub for East Pokot and has access to communications and transportation.  The facility will be staffed by Pokot Outreach Ministry (POM) staff.

The goal of the project is to provide children the hope that only comes through Christ by providing a safe, nurturing envirionment where they can grow in the knowledge of Christ through study of His Word and involvement in their church and community.
